Our Management Team

Tom Owen, CEO

Tom joined The Green House as CEO in March 2019. His passion to help people access the care and support they need was born out of his experience as a frontline police officer in Bristol’s busy inner-city areas. Since leaving the police, he has held senior leadership, business strategy and consultancy roles in both the charity and ethical business sectors.

Claire Boulton, Development Manager

Claire leads on our funding and communications, sharing news about what we do and working to make sure we have the resources to carry out our valuable work. She joined the team in 2016 after five years working in business development for London-based charity, Solace Women’s Aid.

Emma Bull, Adults Service Clinical Lead

Emma oversees the clinical practice and quality of our adult services team. She has a wide range of experience working with survivors and those who have experienced trauma. She brings expertise in working, developing and managing therapeutic services in multiple settings including the NHS, education and the charity sector.

Dr Sayi Thomas, CYP Service Clinical Lead

Sayi manages the clinical practice of our CYP team and is responsible for the quality of services we provide for children and young people. Sayi has extensive experience as a child and adolescent psychotherapist working with children who have experienced trauma both in NHS CAMHS and the voluntary sector. Sayi also supervises and teaches locally on courses organised by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

Polly Theedom, Operations Manager

Polly has worked in the voluntary sector for nearly a decade in a variety of different roles, from office management to campaigns, in both local and national charities. Passionate about equalities, organisational systems and the therapeutic approach, she oversees the Admin team here and generally makes sure we are running smoothly.

Our Adult Services Team

Our team of 9 counsellors are all highly skilled, with specialist expertise in working with sexual trauma and an average of 14 years counselling experience between them. They provide counselling from our centre in St Pauls and a satellite project in Taunton.

Our Children and Young People’s Team

The CYP team consists of Lisa, our Family Support Practitioner, and therapists Kate, Josephine and Tim. They each bring extensive experience in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma. They provide therapy from our centre in St Pauls and Knowle West Health Park.

Our Service Administration Team

Service Administrators, Jen, Maddy and Clare provide a vital role in coordinating our services and providing a warm welcome to all our clients.

Our Board of Trustees

Steve Livings

Steve has been Chair since 2006. He served as a police officer for over 30 years in the Avon & Somerset Constabulary, retiring in 2001 as Chief Superintendent and the District Police Commander for South Bristol. Steve is passionate about the work of The Green House and brings huge experience in safeguarding and child protection to his role on the Board.

Janet Howard

Janet joined The Green House in 2011. Her expertise as a Chartered Accountant is invaluable in her role as Treasurer, playing an active role in ensuring transparency and scrutiny of our finances.

Mike Bessant

Mike has been a trustee at The Green House since 2014. As a former Regional Mental Health Lead for NHS Direct, Mike brings valuable clinical expertise and experience in mental health provision to the Board.

Kamala Das

Kamala has been a trustee since 2015. She is an experienced barrister, currently working for St John’s Chambers. She brings specialist expertise in family law and local government to her role as a trustee.

Cecilia Batten

Cecilia joined the Board in 2016. With over 20 years experience as a psychiatrist, she brings key expertise in mental health and psychotherapy to her role at The Green House.

Tabitha Rooks

Tabitha joined The Green House in 2015. She currently works for Lyons Davidson as a solicitor specialising in civil claims for abuse and clinical negligence. Her knowledge and expertise in this area is a vital asset to her role on the Board.
