New referrals can be made from Tuesday 5th January 2021
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted many charities, counselling, and support services. At The Green House, we have spent the last 9 months adapting our services and improving our operations. Our goal is always to support survivors and our staff the best that we can throughout this unprecedented time.
Earlier this year, we closed our new referrals waiting list for our adults’ service, giving us additional time and capacity to develop our online counselling service. This allows us to ensure that survivors continued accessing quality, specialist therapy from The Green House.
We paid particular attention to accessibility, and we have developed a range of ways, we can support our clients in accessing therapy, including the long-term loan of technology or the use of safe, confidential spaces.
We have now delivered over 700 remote counselling sessions, via online video link or telephone. This is what our clients have said about our remote therapy service:
“changes were to be made to the service due to the pandemic, and [I] was fully prepared for a switch to over the phone counselling. And being offered the opportunity to engage in over the phone counselling allowed me to express my thoughts and feelings in the comfort of my own home.“
From Tuesday 5th January 2021, we will be accepting self -referrals for our adults remote counselling service. Our adults service offers up to 24 sessions of free, specialist counselling to people of all genders who:
- Have been impacted by sexual abuse
- Are over the age of 18
- Live in the Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire areas
To make a self-referral, please call us on 0117 935 1707 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and request to make a referral.
