A Day In the Life Of Our Pathway Administrators

A Day In the Life Of Our Pathway Administrators

Join our Pathway Admins Anna and Emily on a typical day at The Green House

9am: Mondays are the only day we’re both in the office together and that makes them extra special! We always start the morning with a good catchup! We’ll often make a brew, say hello to everyone in the building as they arrive and see what everyone’s been up to over the weekend.

10am: Once we’ve settled in, we meet to discuss the week ahead. This is our chance to look at upcoming priorities, chat through anything new and check which therapists have clients nearing the end of their sessions. From there, we delegate tasks, organise follow-ups, and make sure everything is lined up so the pathway runs smoothly.

11am: For the rest of the morning, we will crack on with our to-do lists: replying to enquiries, inputting new referrals, and contacting families with therapy or initial meeting slots… whilst trying to not get distracted by the extremely cute and fluffy dogs strolling past our window as they go off to the park!

12pmWe meet with the Family Support Team! As PAs, we feel lucky to be part of this meeting. It’s a great chance to check in, share updates, hear about the brilliant work happening across the service, and do a bit of future‑thinking and problem‑solving together. It’s always a really uplifting part of the day.

For the rest of the morning, we will crack on with our to-do lists... whilst trying to not get distracted by the extremely cute and fluffy dogs strolling passed our window as they go off to the park!

1pm: Lunch time!! Whilst the weather is nice, we’ve been enjoying having lunch as a team outside. We love getting some fresh air and making the most of the lovely park that is next to us. Lots of the work we do is on our screens, so we like to move our bodies and get outside when we can.

2pmEmily has a call with a parent who has just completed the Parent Carer Group. The call is a chance to go through a short questionnaire and hear about their experience of the group. It’s always a great part of the day; we love hearing how the work we do has supported families. It also gives us really valuable insight into what’s working well and how we can continue improving the support we offer. We’re always looking for ways to grow.

3pm: At 3pm we have some time to meet with Becky (Clinical Manager) and Nat (Service Manager). This time is so important to us because sometimes we won’t get to be in the same room for a few weeks. We use this time to discuss clients that may have difficulty reaching us. As well as this we’ll take the time to reflect on things that have happened since we last met. We work through things (good and bad) that may have come up over the last week.

4pm: Emily finishes up for the day! She’ll be back at The Green House on Wednesday to take over from Anna and continue supporting children, young people, their families, as well as the team.

5pm: For the rest of Anna’s day, the focus will be contacting families to offer therapy slots. There is no better feeling than when a family accepts a therapy slot! We are very excited to see a new child come into our service and get to meet with one of our fantastic therapists.

6pm: It’s the end of the day. Everyone is ready to go home. Just one more thing to do! Time to lock up the building and make sure everything looks good for the next day.

Anna now has a long drive ahead – fingers crossed the Prince of Wales Bridge is open!
