Resources for children, young people, and adults to introduce our therapy services
We have created a range of resources to help children, young people, parents, carers and professionals understand more about therapy at The Green House and what to expect from the process.
What is Therapy? A Guide For Young People
If you are a young person interested in accessing our support, this leaflet is for you. It explains what therapy is, what to expect, and how therapy at The Green House can help.
Therapy at The Green House: A Guide to Therapy for Parents/Carers of Younger Children
We know that parents and carers are often best placed to talk with children and young people about their support needs. This guide can help parents and carers explain therapy to their child, so that they feel informed, included and prepared for their journey with The Green House.
Therapy FAQs for Parents & Carers
When starting therapy, it’s natural for parents and carers to have questions. This guide brings together advice from parents, carers, young people and our team to help answer common questions about therapy and how best to support the child or young person.
Pre-Trial Therapy
For some families, therapy may take place alongside a police investigation or CPS process. This should not prevent a child or young person from accessing therapy or other support. This is known as pre-trial therapy. To find out more about what this means and how it works, please see our Pre-Trial Therapy leaflet.
Choosing Therapy colouring and activity book (ages 4-8)
Our Choosing Therapy colouring book offers a creative introduction to The Green House for children. Together, families can explore what will happen at the first visit, who you might meet, and how we can help. We hope this resource helps children and young people feel more relaxed and confident about coming to therapy.
Waiting for therapy colouring and activity book (ages 4-8)
After your Initial Meeting, there will be a wait before therapy begins. We know this period can feel uncertain, so we’ve created our Waiting for Therapy colouring book. It is designed to help children and young people manage any worries they may have and begin thinking about their upcoming therapy journey.
